Yoskay Yamamotoâ€™s (interviewed) latest body of work “Hello and Goodbye” (previewed) will open this Saturday, May 9th, at LeBasse Projects. Yoskay has been heads-down for the better part of 2009 crafting an intricate series of paintings for what looks to be a tremendous exhibition. Yoskay shares with AM his creative process for the “Possibly Maybe” piece from this show. See the entire step-by-step creative process after the jump.

Corey Helford Gallery held a very special collector’s preview of Gary Basemanâ€™s latest exhibition “La Noche de la Fusion.” The amazing “Enlightened Chou” installation was more impressive, once assembled, than when we previewed it inÂ our studio visit. The installation is comprised of many Chous, each one is from a different country: Thailand, India, Mexico, Brazil, Russia. Stencil sensations Logan Hicks and Broken Crow (Mike Fitzsimmons & John Grider) took some time do an interview with AM for their upcoming “drive-by” show “Broken Horse.” The much anticipatedÂ urban stencilÂ show will be held inÂ an awesome venue that was once the Hamilton Savings & Loan in Brooklyn, opening tomorrow, May 1st, from 7-11pm. Viewpoints: Murakami, MOCA & Louis Vuitton Sued by Disgruntled Speculator

Last summer, the MOCA was sued by a disgruntled speculator, Clint Arthur, over the sale of some lithographic prints from Takashi Murakami’s retrospective. Arthur’s initial suit alleged that without proper documentation, the prints were just overpriced posters and the museum was misleading customers. The judge quickly dismissed the charges of fraud in the initial case. Buy low, sell high… guess Steve Lazarides sees the recent economic downturnÂ as an opportunity to make some moves. The marquee urban art gallery from London has been busy in 2009. Old school London mainstay Andipa Gallery is going to the streets and holding an exhibition of Banksy’s rare works on canvas. Guess it’s time the old money flexed it’s muscles and showcased some choice secondary market pieces from one of United Kingdom’s finest.
