Tomorrow night (June 1st) in Los Angeles, Thinkspace will be opening a special exhibition from two street artists known to work on the miniature scale. Entitled Trash Talk, the joint exhibition will feature work from both Beligum’s Jaune and UK-based Slinkachu. Known for his clever sculptural interventions with his subjects interacting with everyday objects from a different “Honey I Shrunk The Kids” perspective, Slinkachu has made the transition to indoor work easily by presenting his work as tiny dioramas. Tonight in Paris, Allouche Gallery is hosting a popup exhibition from Paul Insect entitled There’s More Upstairs. The British artist’s work walks the line between old and new, influenced by Dadaist aesthetics while at the same time tackling more modern issues like the effects of social media. His latest set of mixed media works feature his signature hand-painted eyes, created with a rich ombre of color, forming the focal point to his masked portraiture. Josh Sperling Commissioned Wall Installation

Josh Sperling recently made a great case for living with art with a new installation featuring his signature geometric forms. The project was especially challenging because each squiggle was constructed to perfectly fit the 16 degree curve of the wall. The commissioned piece was apparently arranged by Sorry We’re Closed in Brussels and mirrors some of the large site specific wall hangings the New York-based artist creates for his exhibitions. This last weekend, the hauntingly beautiful Aron Wiesenfeld show at Arcadia Contemporary closed its two week run. Natural Selection featured a new body of work from the San Diego-based artist, rendered expertly as usual and steeped with an air of mystery. Before his stunt of setting up shop without a permit to make a point about tourism on the streets during the Venice Biennale, Banksy had previously left an unconfirmed stencil on an abandoned house next to the canal. Created at water level, the elusive British artist must have used a boat to steady himself as he painted a young child wearing a life jacket and holding a pink flare up in the air. Streets: Nychos x Low Bros (Los Angeles)

Earlier this month in Los Angeles, Austrian artist Nychos and German duo Low Bros teamed up for a mural in the backyard of new gallery Studio MOMÉ. The wall is not the first collaboration between The Weird Crew members, and while it features Nychos’ signature dissected imagery, it interestingly seems to be missing the retro futuristic geometric forms from the Low Bros who opted to instead add some of their repeating motifs – tennis ball, soda cans, and rose – to the composition.
