Streets: Leon Keer // Murals In The Market (Detroit)

For the fourth edition of Murals In The Market, anamorphic street artist Leon Keer recently finished a piece entitled Urban Colonization. Previews: Erik Jones // Spoke Art @ Moniker International Art Fair (London)

Continuing to expand on his color infused portraiture, Erik Jones has prepared a surreal new body of work for the upcoming Moniker International Art Fair in London. Scheduled to be shown at the Spoke Art booth from October 4-7, the new vibrant paintings feature some of his familiar geometric patterns surrounding his subjects, but it seems like some of the palette has bled into their bodies and limbs. Showing: Mr. @ Perrotin Gallery (Hong Kong)

Recently in Hong Kong, Perrotin Gallery opened a solo show from Mr. entitled People misunderstand me and the contents of my paintings. They just think they are nostalgic, cute, and look like Japanese anime. That may be true, but really, I paint daily in order to escape the devil that haunts my soul. The said devil also resides in my blood, and I cannot escape from it no matter how I wish. So I paint in resignation. On view from the Japanese artist are a […]
