Art Focus: Scott Campbell – Lost Final Season Premiere

Since the big LOST premiere is tonight for the 5th and final season, we thought we would take this opportunity to introduce you to some of Scott Campbell’s always entertaining work. Fans love his well thought out watercolors because the content often includes clever inside jokes and the fact that his work is so simply addictive. Take a look at this example from one of his most popular series, “Showdowns”, where he references pop culture, frequently from the movie or TV realm, and paints confrontations […]

Showing: Amy Ross – “Brother Wolf” @ Steven Zevitas Gallery

Amy Ross recently opened what sounds to be a deeply personal show. “Brother Wolf”, in Boston at the Steven Zevitas Gallery. Although most readers may be more familiar with her previous work with her signature blending of the plant and animal kingdoms, Ross has chosen to take this new set of paintings in a new direction. Because of her strong anti-war views, she has struggled with the fact that her brother is in the military. Moved by her siblings photos of his recent tours of […]

Releases: Glenn Barr x Pressure Printing – “Evening” Print

Pressure Printing continues their line of stellar releases with this new print, “Evening”, from Glenn Barr (who has a show currently showing in Dallas). You may remember first seeing the original at the Riverside Art Museum in our Baby Tattooville coverage for 2008. The subtle brush strokes in Barr’s painting evoke a warmth and depth that definitely stood out to us that night and it seems that Pressure Printing has done a pretty good job replicating that in this release. The print (a 23″ x […]
