Fashion: James Jean x Prada 2018 Resort Collection

Following up on his work with Prada in 2008 and other projects through the years, James Jean (interviewed) has collaborated with the Italian fashion house on part of their 2018 resort collection. Staged for the first time at the Fondazione Prada Osservatorio in Milan, the runway show featured the illustrator and visual artist’s imagery prominently on parkas, a pantsuit, dresses as well as many of the handbags. Just released (May 5) in limited New York theaters is BURDEN, a feature-length documentary on Chris Burden. The film, by Timothy Marrinan & Richard Dewey, provides an overview of the artist’s fascinating and controversial life through archival and original footage. Previews: KAWS – “FAR FAR DOWN” @ Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis

Today at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, KAWS will be continuing his bevy of museum exhibitions with a new showing entitled FAR FAR DOWN. The Brooklyn-based artist has prepared a mural of his snoopy inspired black & white abstractions on CAM’s 60-foot long Project Wall, with the the work serving as a backdrop for three new paintings. From April 29th until May 18th, Giant Robot 2 welcomes back Mike Lee with another show of his unmistakable oils on paper, mylar and canvas. Rebound continues the body of work from his previous solo with the Los Angeles-based gallery, Repose, and is in particular focused on love.
