Releases: VNA #29 (LA)

VNA Magazine just announced the release info about their newest issue #29. With Cleon Petersen as their cover artist, they picked his hometown of LA to celebrate the launch. The event will be held at Subliminal Projects, this Valentines Day, Saturday Feb. 14th, between 6-9pm. Along with mural painting that started off today and a museum show with Thinkspace Gallery (covered), one of the central events of POW! WOW! Last night, POW! WOW! Hawaii kicked things off with a group show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum Of Art School (111 Victoria Street). Entitled Exploring The New Contemporary Movement, the exhibition featured an impressive and diverse roster or artists, each contributing a 12 x 12″ piece. Upcoming: Nicola Verlato – “Conquest of the West” @ KP Projects / MKG

Later tonight at the newly branded KP Projects / MKG (Merry Karnowsky Gallery),  Nicola Verlato (featured) will be opening his own solo along with KMNDZ. Following up on a successful showing there in 2013 (covered), the Italian artist will be presenting a new body of work collectively entitled Conquest of the West. Painted with inspiration from old masterworks yet with contemporary references, Verlato’s imagery is an intriguing mix of the familiar with a new twist. Discuss Nicola Verlato here.

Releases: Candice Tripp – “I’m Coming Back Tomorrow To Look For More” Print

On February 5th (11 am GMT), Candice Tripp (interviewed) will be releasing a new print entitled I’m Coming Back Tomorrow To Look For More. Her first intaglio etching will be released in an edition of 25 through Black Rat Projects, come sized at 64.5 x 70 cm and cost £250.
