Release: Mark Dean Veca – The Hundreds Skate Deck & Shoe

Continuing his collaboration with The Hundreds, Mark Dean Veca (interviewed) will be releasing a skate deck and kicks (Johnson Mid) featuring his signature “Toile de Jouy” abstractions. The shoe’s pattern is based on the image above which is also chock full of pop references like Hank Williams, Franz Kline, Ed Ruscha’s Hollywood Sign, Lil’ Annie Fannie, and Green Eggs and Ham. A show that closed just last weekend at the Jealous Gallery in London was a collection of sculptures that might not be for the faint of heart. A couple of nights ago, we headed over to the Pasadena Museum of California Art (PMCA) to check out two show openings. One was Street Cred (covered), and the other was Inside Out from the renowned Clayton Brothers (featured).
