Kickstarter: Scott Radke – “A Book Of Art 1995-2015”

Gifted sculptor Scott Radke (interviewed) is working on his first book ever and would like your help in funding it through kickstarter. Entitled simply A Book Of Art 1995-2015, the planned 144 page hardcover publication will encompass 20 years of the Cleveland-based artist’s career. There are many pledge items available including prints, t-shirts, calendars, and of course the grotesquely beautiful sculptures of animals with human faces like the bats seen above. AM was on hand for the October 16th opening reception of Laura Ball’s newest show Keep, her second solo at Denver’s David B. Smith Gallery. Using watercolor paint and graphite, Ball’s work is a subconscious exploration of the Hero Myth of Joseph Campbell. The series is composed of intertwined animals interacting on a white background, undulating and full of subtle details, making the work highly engaging. Installation shots via the gallery. Openings: Dabs Myla – “Before and Further” Popup (Los Angeles)

A couple weeks ago, Dabs Myla opened up an ambitious new exhibition at the Modernica factory property in Los Angeles entitled Before and Further. The title is appropriate as the artistic duo took things to the next level with an immersive installation featuring paintings, sculptures, ceramics, lighting, customized furniture, as well as murals covering the entire facade of the building. Releases: Joe Ledbetter – “Totem” Multi-Dimensional Print

Earlier today, Joe Ledbetter released a new multi-dimensional print through Prints On Wood entitled Totem. Standing over two feet tall, the edition consists of two double sided prints on wood that intersect, forming a stack of the Los Angeles-based artist’s iconic characters.
