Recently to the delight of her fans in the Los Angeles area, Jen Stark painted some of her signature imagery on the facade of PLATFORM, a retail venue opening next year in Culver City. The psychedelic drips of color that are often seen in her mural painting mirror the geometric colors seen in her papercut sculptures, leading to a cohesive aesthetic seen across the versatile artist’s oeuvre. Zachari Logan’s work has been seen here and there at Roq La Rue for a few years now, but Grotesques is his first solo show at the Seattle gallery. Using colored pencil and pastels, Logan blends plants and animals to create mutated hybrids of familiar species.
