While we may not have gotten to see much of Kobe Bryant this season, we still have the chance to see what is probably the greatest display of artwork showcasing moments in the Laker great’s career. A while back, we covered the beginning of the eight part series and then followed up with a notice for the last discussion of the series. Now that all eight paintings have been unveiled, we went down to Nike Vault to see the display in its entirety. We have heard […]

Showing: Mark Jenkins – “Terrible Horrible” @ Ruttkowski;68

American artist Mark Jenkins opened his second solo with Ruttkowski;68 gallery in Cologne on Friday night. Titled Terrible Horrible, the show featured a number of new tape sculptures as well as a couple of clever canvas interventions. Openings: Aakash Nihalani – “Vantage” @ Wunderkammern

On Friday, 4th of April, Wunderkammern Gallery in Rome opened the first Italian solo show by Aakash Nihalani. More similar to his recent street interventions, the new work is even flatter but at the same time even more dimensional and interactive. And, it’s his ability to create such contradictory effects that makes his art so special and curious. Focusing […]

Streets: Borondo (London)

Spanish artist Borondo recently moved to London and has been very active on the streets of the British capital. Known for his raw, expressive style of painting, which often is done by scratching the paint off glass or other surfaces, he’s been creating works on shop windows, under bridges and such unusual places. Recently, he created this multi portrait piece called Nemesis, showing the face of a man putting on face paint and blending with the background, or disappearing as he’s progressing. His work, based on […]
