David Choe Seeking Artists For Next Igloo Hong Project

After an enlightening trip to Cambodia for the first David Choe (featured) funded Igloo Hong Project with Aryz, Esao Andrews, James Jean, and El Mac, it sounds the he’s looking for more artists for the next trip. Releases: Futura x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II collection

Starting next month, the Futura Chuck Taylor All Star II collection from Converse will be releasing at specialty retailers, Converse stores and online at Converse.com. This project with the NY graffiti legend will be the first artist collaboration with the redesigned Chuck Taylor All Star from the American shoe company. As you can see, the Brooklyn-based artist’s signature aesthetic can be seen featured on the sneaker (hi-top and the ox), apparel and accessories collection. Via Highsnobiety. Discuss Futura here.

Basel Week Miami ’15 / Streets: Nychos

Another artist that left their mark on the streets during Basel Week Miami last year was anatomical enthusiast Nychos. The Austrian artist celebrated his birthday during the week of art festivities by leaving this burner behind in Wynwood Cafe entitled Strike Eagle, finishing despite being stopped by the police for a few days. Streets: Eine (Santa Ana)

A couple months ago in Santa Ana, California, Ben Eine painted a mural utilizing his signature text-based imagery with the words “Suenos Revolucionarios” or “Revolutionary Dreams.” Arranged by Marcas Gallery, the piece was considered by the British artist as one of his best walls in the last few years and it’s not hard to see why. Leading off the return of our Streets: World Roundup feature this week is a tribute from Jimmy C of rock icon David Bowie in the Brixton neighborhood where he was born. Three weeks before the official opening on the 6th of February, the historically designed landscape of Yorkshire Sculpture Park turned into sort of a construction site last weekend. With large trucks, cranes and other heavy machinery in place, the setup of the first UK museum exhibition by KAWS has begun.
