Streets: Eduardo Kobra (Brazil)

After making hitting both coasts of the US with his mural work (New York & Los Angeles), Eduardo Kobra has returned home for a new large scale project in Brazil. The 52 meter tall piece covers the entire side of a skyscraper on Paulista Avenue, one of Sao Paulo’s busiest streets, and is Kobra’s tribute to the famed Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, who passed away last December at the age of 104. Preview / Setup: JR @ Watarium Museum (Tokyo)

If you remember, late last year, we shared with you some photos of JR touring Japan to spread his Inside Out love in his giant photo booth / converted truck. Turns out, that was only a precursor for a show opening officially this weekend at the Watarium Museum in Tokyo. As you can see from these preview images, the French “photograffeur” is already busy prepping the outside and inside of the institution with his distinctive work. Photos via Alabaz and the artist. Last week, How & Nosm brought their outdoor graffiti talents from the streets into Jonathan LeVine Gallery’s brand new pop-up space in the heart of Chelsea. This Friday (February 8th) at 12pm EST, fans of RIME will see a pretty unique release through the good people at 1xRUN. The Arrest Sheets portfolios are priced at a hefty $500 but you get a lot for your money as the edition (run of 30) includes drawings (like the ones here) as well as hand embellished prints & folders with each being unique. AM recently stopped by San Francisco to visit Guerrero Gallery and caught the setup by Remio & Tim Diet as they prepared for their opening this Saturday.
