David Flores, a LA-based artist who’s known for a unique style that embellishes another work of art rather than painting over it, once again put his stamp on the city walls of Los Angeles. Streets: D*Face Buenos Aires Travelogue (Part 1)

You may remember his recent travelogue here on AM from Ecuador (here and here), and it looks like our boy D*Face (interviewed) has been on his travels again, this time hitting some spots in Buenos Aires with a variety of street pieces. D recorded some of the highs and lows of the trip to Argentina for us again in a travelogue series. Read on for part one, which we’ll subtitle ‘D gets his stink on‘ after the jump.

Recently engaging in his first solo exhibition in Zurich, La Belle Vie (covered), back in April, as well as spending a great deal of time getting up on the crispy clean Swiss urban landscape (covered), the Paris-based street artist has settled back in his hometown and gotten down to work. Streets: Escif & San (Los Angeles)

Escif and San have hit the ground running as they have arrived in California to prepare for their upcoming joint show at Fifty24SF (first mentioned here). The two Spanish street artists first made a stop in Socal with this mural at the popular De La Barracuda wall before heading north to no doubt grace San Francisco with more walls before their show opens on June 30th. Streets: EWOK & Sever (Israel)

Since we last reported on EWOK (coverage of his show at Known Gallery) and Sever (Montana Cans Across America), the two MSK members have join forces while taking a trip to Israel. Not only did they get up on numerous walls with beautiful complex pieces like the one above, they also took time to leave tributes to the recently freed REVOK – one of them on the Hebron Police Precinct! German collaborative duo Herakut have been keeping busy recently. After hitting up Los Angeles and New Hampsire with a series of shows and walls, they traveled to Jaffa Port, Tel Aviv to participate in the CASTRO Street Project with two murals entitled If I gave up my arms could you teach me how to be happy? and I took my world apart just to be here with you. Today, AM was on hand to catch the arrival of the mother of all Kaws Companions (so far). This Passing Through Companion was hauled over from the backyard of the Aldrich Contemporary Museum, where it was last exhibited and dropped off in the front yard of The Standard Hotel in New York. Yesterday night in Paris, resident street tilemaster Invader put on the mother of all shows to celebrate getting up for the 1000th time at La Générale, organized by Gallerie Le Feuvre. Teasers: Kaws – “Passing Through” Companion @ The Standard (New York)

All right kids, Kaws is coming back to homebase for the summer. The huge companion statue showcased recently at the The Aldrich Contemporary Museum will be stopping by the meatpacking district of Manhattan. We first saw this giant companion in the Hong Kong Passing Through exhibition (covered). Now we get to enjoy this at the front yard of The Standard Hotel New York. The figure will be available for viewing starting tomorrow June 8th and will run until October. Discuss Kaws here.
