Streets: Jen Stark – “Chromatic Cascade” (Los Angeles)

It looks like Jen Stark recently completed a mural in the downtown LA arts district (1828 Conway Pl. Los Angeles, CA 90065), her largest to date. Entitled Chromatic Cascade, the impressive piece spans two walls on the facade of a building and measures 27 x 200 ft. Featuring bold colors and intricate patterning, the wall painting is a classic example of Stark’s psychedelic drippy imagery, one of the reoccurring motifs in her work. Discuss Jen Stark here.

Openings: D*Face – “Happy Never Ending” @ Corey Helford Gallery

A couple weekends ago, D*Face (interviewed) headed to Los Angeles to present his newest body of work at Corey Helford Gallery. Releases: Okuda x Flamingo – Sunglasses

Spanish artist Okuda recently collaborated with Flamingo to design a pair of sunglasses featuring his distinctive aesthetic. The shaded spectacles (available here for 95.00€) feature the prolific street artist’s signature colors & patterns on the frames. Showing: Mark Jenkins & Rero – “Rules of Engagement” @ Wunderkammern

Rules of Engagement, a joint show from Mark Jenkins (interviewed) and Rero, is currently on view at Wunderkammern and will run until October 28th. The exhibition at the gallery’s Milan venue features the American Jenkins bringing his signature and often ski-masked sculptural pieces in from the streets while still retaining the cleverness and grittiness in the indoor setting.
