Streets: Escif – “Nice Time For A Revolution” (Spain)

Spanish street artist Escif recently participated in the Insitu Festival along with other artists like San, Herbert Baglione, and Sam3. He decided to contribute this mural to the event held in his home country, filled with his hooded characters causing Mayhem which is aptly named “Nice Time For A Revolution”. Streets: LUDO lenticular

While he was in London, LUDO (interviewed) decided to hit up the same spot where ROA’s famous lenticular rabbit once stood. In fact, you can see the remnants of that piece still peaking out from the bottom. Releases: Shepard Fairey Mr. Spray Vinyl Figure

Hot on the heals of his blowout solo in SoHo (covered), Shepard Fairey has announced that his Mr. Spray is finally being released, after we brought you a first look at the figure when we visited his studio in 2008. Mr. Spray, originally conceived of in 2004 as a 50’s-era advertising mascot, will be rendered in 3-dimensions by acclaimed vinyl toy masters, STRANGEco. “Shred,” an exhibition curated by New York downtown art critic and Paper magazine editor Carlo McCormick, opened last Thursday night at Chelsea’s Perry Rubenstein Gallery. As the name implies, the show features collage-based art from a diverse group of artists, including Dash Snow, Elbow-Toe (interviewed), FAILE (featured), Shepard Fairey (featured), Mark Flood, Erik Foss, Swoon (interviewed) and Judith Supine. Event: Flood Tide – Remixed @ Rooftop Films

Tomorrow night, Rooftop Films will kick off its summer screening series with a special free event entitled Flood Tide: Remixed. The event will feature a 50-minute composition of footage from Flood Tide, a film shot on the Hudson River during Swoon (interviewed) and friends’ 2008 Swimming Cities of the Switchback Sea raft project.
