Ron English x Bigfoot x Jason Maloney Mural in Jersey City

Yesterday afternoon, one of our favorite contemporary pop artists, Ron English, along with west coast artists Bigfoot and Jason Maloney, injected a little extra life into downtown Jersey City. They blessed Hudson County Art Supplyâ€™s exterior wall in Jersey City, NJ with a huge, colorful, and collaborative mural. Â It was a gorgeous day for painting. Preview: David Choe – “Death Blossom” @ Pyo Gallery (Beijing)

Apparently, David Choe has been in China working hard on his next series of shows with Pyo Gallery in Beijing.Â Opening simultaneously on April 4th at several locations including the Chao Yan Liquor Gallery & 798 Gallery, his solo exhibit will be entitled “Death Blossom.”Â Take a look at some of the completed and in-progress paintings after the jump. Releases: Faile Relaunches Website with Originals & Prints

One would think that the Faile collectiveÂ would take a little time off after their bangin’ “Lost in Glimmering Shadows” show last year in the UK (covered), but 2009 is no off-year for them. One of the highlights of the Bridge Art Fair was British gallery Opus Art who traveled from the UK to show New York just what they have to offer. Another great group show is underway at Lazarides (Newcastle Location). This time, the exhibition that opened last weekend is entitled “Outsiders Selection” and features original paintings, prints and sculpture from Faile, Antony Micallef, Blu, Ian Francis, David Choe, JR, Conor Harrington, Damien Hirst, Paul Insect, Invader, Polly Morgan, Kelsey Brookes, Vhils, Jonathan Yeo, Herbert Baglione, Zevs, and more.Â Although the art was mainly older work, there were many standout pieces including this stunning “Flying Copper” (seen above) by Banksy suspended in glass/plexi.Â Many more pics […]
