Releases: Kevin Cyr – “4 Queens” Print

Kevin Cyr recently released a print through Dynamo Editions entitled 4 Queens in a low edition of 25 featuring some of his signature distressed and graffiti covered vehicles.  Interestingly enough as you can see from the photos below, the van started blank before the Brooklyn-based artist starts his hand embellishing process. The print is sized at 16 x 20″ and costs $375 here for those interested in adding it to their collection. Discuss Kevin Cyr here.

Recap: Seth – “Range Ta Chabre” @ Teatro India (999 Contemporary)

As previously reported, on the 7th of July, after two months of participating in 999 Foundation’s Artist Resistance Residency in Rome, Seth aka Julien Malland opened his solo show entitled Range Ta Chambre (Clean Up Your Room). Placed in an abandoned soap factory, the exhibition turned out to be quite an experience. Without any canvases being on display, the event was focused on exploring the abandoned factory in effort to revitalize it as a future social and creative hub. The entry and “only” room included an incomplete installation created with colorful waste from around […]

Streets: Nychos (Rhode Island)

This week in Providence, Nychos continued his hectic schedule with a snow leopard mural for the INFLUX public art festival put on by The Avenue Concept. The nonprofit organization working to bring sustainable public art to Rhode Island welcomed in the Austrian artist (with the help of INOPERAbLE) to paint his distinctive cartoonish dissected imagery for the project concentrated in two locations – downtown Providence and the “Cultural Corridor” between Classical and Central High Schools. Take a look at more photos of the piece below… Photo […]

Releases: Dabs Myla x Vans Collection

Continuing their design work, Dabs Myla recently collaborated with Vans on a footwear and apparel collection for women featuring the duo’s imagery. Included in the set are the classic Sk8-Hi Sli, Authentic and Classic Slip-Ons shoes as well as a T-shirt, hoodie, tee dress, backpack, trucker hat, and canoodle socks. Influenced by their work on the streets, mid century aesthetic, and theatrical cartoons from the Golden Age of Animation, it looks like the Aussie husband and wife team have chosen some distinctive graphics to accent the selected items. Streets: Sebas Velasco (Kiev)

Week after week, new murals are being painted all around Kiev as a part of the ongoing ArtUnitedUs festival curated by Geo Leros, Iryna Kanishcheva and Waone Interesni Kazki. Sebas Velasco was one of the artists that recently visited the Ukrainian capital and left his mark on its urban landscape. For this piece, Spanish artist picked a selection of his personal photographs showing different images of the city featuring night lights, graffiti, typography and architecture, as well as a portrait of a friendly local that invited […]

Releases: Franco “Jaz” Fasoli – “Untitled” Bronze Sculpture

Last month, Francisco “Jaz” Fasoli revealed the first piece in a series of upcoming bronze sculpture editions. Sculpted by the artist himself, the untitled sculpt was produced in Barcelona in a limited edition of only 8 pieces. Although well known for his large figurative murals depicting hybrid creatures, this is the first time the Argentina-born artist has created a 3D piece. In his recognizable large-scale murals that are somewhat influenced by the political graffiti from the urban landscape of Buenos Aires, Fasoli often paints part man, part beast characters in […]

Streets: Pejac (London)

Only 10 days ahead of his big London debut, Pejac released another fresh intervention created recently on the streets of British capital. As a response to Brexit and it’s causes and consequences, the Spanish artist came up with yet another fresh concept to comment on the sensitive sociopolitical issue. Borrowing a title from the iconic British band Oasis, Don’t Look Back in Anger is a recreation of Van Gogh’s Starry Night scratched with car keys on a hood of a black Jaguar. Mixing vandalism and fine […]

Streets: Blu (Ljubljana)

Italian artist and activist Blu visited Slovenia last month in order to support the efforts of the local Rog Factory (Tovarna Rog) squat in their fight against the municipality of Ljubljana. During his stay, the street artist painted a strong piece depicting a gun created out of different tools, instruments and equipment used by the squatters, symbolizing their strength in their fight against the capital. This old bicycle factory has been abandoned since the downfall of Yugoslavia until 2006. For the last decade, it served as […]
