POW WOW ’13: Dabs Myla x 123Klan x Slick x Askew x Roid

As this year’s POW WOW draws to a close this weekend, murals that artists have been working on all week are nearing completion. We’ll be bringing you a look at many of these pieces soon, starting first with an epic collaboration between Dabs Myla, 123Klan, Slick, Askew, and Roid. Studio Visit: Melissa Haslam – “Floating Garden” @ LeBasse Projects

Returning to the botanical imagery that she has worked on in the past, painter Melissa Haslam (featured) will be opening a show at LeBasse Projects on March 2nd. Entitled Floating Garden, the new body of work will highlight how the Melbourne-based artist has furthered refined her form of portraiture. POW WOW ’13 (Part I)

With POW WOW 2013 in full swing, AM made the rounds yesterday to check out the progress as murals were going up all around the Kakaʻako district in Honolulu. After filling the Jonathan LeVine booth (covered) with his tiled works during Basel Week Miami, Invader has returned to the streets in his home city of Paris recently with this new piece. Streets: Eduardo Kobra (Brazil)

After making hitting both coasts of the US with his mural work (New York & Los Angeles), Eduardo Kobra has returned home for a new large scale project in Brazil. The 52 meter tall piece covers the entire side of a skyscraper on Paulista Avenue, one of Sao Paulo’s busiest streets, and is Kobra’s tribute to the famed Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, who passed away last December at the age of 104.
