Streets: Ron English – “Skin Deep” @ Lazarides Rathbone Place

Ron English has landed in London and is already working the streets with his signature Popaganda disruptions. He sent us some images during some computer breaks from putting up his new Thoughtful street campaign. If you’re fortunate enough to be in the UK starting this Friday, be sure to catch his show Skin Deep: Post-Instinctual Afterthoughts On Psychological Portraiture opening at Lazarides (Rathbone Place). Also check out our recent visit to his mad laboratory here to get an idea of the new body of work he has prepared […]

Streets: Banksy (London)

In a fitting nod to UK graf artist, Tox, who earlier in the month was charged with criminal damages for his ubiquitous tags across London and beyond, Banksy has issued a tribute in the form of his most recent street piece. Located in Tox’s hometown of Camden, the Bristol-based street icon has cleverly blended whimsy and nostalgia to bring attention to the legal situation of all five street artists brought down in the British Transport Police’s “Operation Misfit”. Whatever the cause for Banksy to get […]

Video: ROA – “Four Horses Of The Apocalypse” Timelapse

You may remember back in April we wrote about the massive piece Belgian street specialist ROA put up at Unit44 as part of their White Walls Project in Newcastle. Entitled Four Horses Of The Apocalypse, it may be his most complex mural to date so enjoy the footage in the video above as you watch the a master at work. Via Hooked Blog. Discuss ROA here.

Streets: Claudio Ethos (Sao Paulo)

After getting a massive mural up in Los Angeles, it looks like Claudio Ethos has returned home to Brazil. The Sao Paolo-based street surrealist recently posted up a couple of presumably new pieces he did in his native city on his blog before heading over to the CityLeaks Festival. He says one of the characters is sending out the message and the other is receiving the signal. The other piece and another view of the piece above after the jump…

Streets: Blu (Germany)

After his team effort with compatriot Ericailcane in Fabriano, Italy, the fast moving Blu has moved on to and completed the new mural we told you about in Germany. Wouldn’t we all like to chop off the Medusa head of rising gasoline prices? This wall was painted in Cologne as part of the Cityleaks Urban Art Festival which also includes involvement from Alexandros Vasmoulakis, Claudio Ethos, Faith47, Escif, Herbert Baglione, Roa, Sam3, Lucy McLauchlan and Will Barras among others. A closer look at the head […]

Streets: Blu & Ericailcane @ R.I.P.Arte Festival (Italy)

Reprising teamwork that has become familiar to street art fans everyone, Blu and Ericailcane hit up the R.I.P.Arte Festival in Fabriano, Italy recently with these two side-by-side pieces. The dynamic duo have been tearing up Europe recently at a frantic pace with their in-demand mural skills (last collab in Bologna), especially Blu (Palestra, Jensi, Krakaw, Poznań) whose prolific appetite for walls boggles the mind.  And, it seems there is no end in sight as he’s getting up in Germany at the moment. The event also […]

Streets: olive47’s Owls in Atlanta & Los Angeles

Sometimes, you can get to feeling all disenchanted about street art – it’s often about the gallery show, the advertising and the PR – nothing feels fresh, nothing feels exciting. Then sometimes, something fresh and exciting pops into your inbox (or in this case your Instagram feed) that makes it all seem worthwhile again…. The most meaningful street art connects with it’s environment and engages with the setting in which it is placed. olive47’s Owl installations do just that, and they are certain to bring […]

Streets: David Flores (Los Angeles)

David Flores, a LA-based artist who’s known for a unique style that embellishes another work of art rather than painting over it, once again put his stamp on the city walls of Los Angeles. With the monthly event known as the Downtown Art Walk taking place this past Thursday, Flores debuted a large-wall piece that featured one of the most iconic Hollywood screen personas – James Dean. Using the image (taken by photographer Phil Stern) featured in the film Forever Young, Flores took an image […]

Streets: D*Face Buenos Aires Travelogue (Part 1)

You may remember his recent travelogue here on AM from Ecuador (here and here), and it looks like our boy D*Face (interviewed) has been on his travels again, this time hitting some spots in Buenos Aires with a variety of street pieces. D recorded some of the highs and lows of the trip to Argentina for us again in a travelogue series. Read on for part one, which we’ll subtitle ‘D gets his stink on‘ after the jump.

Videos / Streets: LUDO – “Green Berry” (Paris)

Recently engaging in his first solo exhibition in Zurich, La Belle Vie (covered), back in April, as well as spending a great deal of time getting up on the crispy clean Swiss urban landscape (covered), the Paris-based street artist has settled back in his hometown and gotten down to work. With some clever word play, Green Berry is LUDO’s (interviewed) take on cellphone communication technology meshed together with his signature nature themed imagery. The above video shows the multi-talented artist at work, efficiently installing the […]
