AM was fortunate to visit French graffiti artist TILT in his studio in Toulouse as he prepared for multiple shows in London at POW, Singapore and Manila, and to follow him across the streets. When not painting graffiti on naked “bubble girls” across the world, the self declared “graffiti fetichist” leverages his fun and colourful bubble letters to represent iconic portraits, shoes and flags. In anticipation of his solo exhibition at Galerie Perrotin on November 19th, AM recently stopped by JR’s New York studio. The show entitled Encrages will take over both floors of Emmanuel Perrotin’s beautiful flagship space. The TED prize winning photographer is going to need it as this giant exhibition will bring together many of JR’s past projects including Women are Heroes and Wrinkles in the City. AM recently visited TrustoCorp’s secret lair in anticipation of their opening at New York’s Opera Gallery tomorrow, October 20th. The twin brothers Ad Deville and Droo who make up Skewville first came to prominence around 1999, when their wooden sneakers became an ubiquitous sight hanging from New York power lines. Since then, they have continued to push the boundaries of street communications.
