Yesterday, we gave you an inside look at the collaborative project between Liu Bolin and JR (featured). With his aesthetic continuing to gain traction in the world of fashion, this newest project from Ryan McGinley was commissioned by Vogue UK. Shooting model Sienna Miller for the magazine’s April issue, the New York-based photographer utilized some of his signature looks such as the play of motion & focus, nude portraiture with birds, and explosive techniques. Openings: Corey Arnold – “Wolf Tide” @ Richard Heller Gallery

A couple weeks ago, the Richard Heller Gallery in Santa Monica hosted the opening for Corey Arnold’s Wolf Tide. The vibrant new work by the Portland-based photographer are a series of shots taken during his experience working as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. His travels have taken him to the Bering Sea, Europe, South Africa, the Atlantic, and the Arctic. and his subjects include humans, eagles, gulls, deer, vast seascapes and surreal landscapes. Liu Bolin for Harper’s Bazaar

As we saw for ourselves when we spent some time with Liu Bolin in New York, his creative process is fascinating to say the least. It looks like we aren’t the only ones that feel that way as the Chinese photographer was recently commissioned by Harper’s Bazaar to work on a fashion shoot with them. Openings: Polaroid – “Instant Revolution” @ Impossible Project Space

Last year, Polaroid collaborated with Phillips de Pury for a unique benefit auction with a slew of artists creating works using their iconic instant photographs. Fastforward to 2011 and Polaroid has teamed up with IMPOSSIBLE at their New York project space to create another group show entitled Instant Revolution. The exhibition featured Gary Baseman, James Franco, Maripol, Mary Ellen Mark and Jennifer Juniper Stratford and challenged them to catch the world through their eyes. Check it out after the jump.
