Right on the heals of a successful opening of his solo in Los Angeles (covered), KAWS has returned for a second engagement at Harbour City in Hong Kong. The Coastal Currents Festival of Visual Arts in Hastings in the South East of England, recently hosted new work from Kate MccGwire. Known for her sculptural works created from feathers, the British artist elected to create two site-specific installation pieces – Secrete (seen above) and Purge. Housed in the crypt of St Mary in the Castle, the subterranean environment was a dramatic setting for  MccGwire’s new undulating forms. She states that she was “initially inspired by the the steady flow of natural spring water that seeps into the […]

Structures: Anish Kapoor / 56 Leonard by Herzog & de Meuron

The New York art collectors who can afford the added cost of a commissioned Anish Kapoor sculpture to their living situation may want to consider 56 Leonard by Herzog & de Meuron. When completed, the oft delayed building will featured a “compressed” site specific stainless steel sculpture by Kapoor at the very bottom. Via Designboom. Discuss […]

There are five sculptural works placed in select locations that invite the viewer to interact with the pieces. Whether it’s a tetris-like bench that changes color depending on the temperature or a large wind chime that can be rung, it’s pretty fitting to enjoy Fall’s simple design […]
