As one of the few satellite fairs of Art Basel week in Switzerland, the Scope Art Fair once again brought some of the world’s freshest urban and contemporary art to Basel. On two floors of the former Clarahuus, 70 international exhibitors from 52 cities and 27 countries presented works by large roster of artists working in different mediums, different scales, while pushing the boundaries of the movement. This year event included a selection of works by emerging and recognized artists from around the world. Some of […]

With Art Basel in Switzerland in full swing these days, we’re bringing you a second report from the booths of the world’s premier modern and contemporary art fair. Presented across 27,500 square meters of exhibition spaces in Halls 1 and 2 of Messe Basel on Messeplatz, the fair has been opened to the public after major collectors, museum directors, curators, financiers, artists, and art world influencers got the chance for a first look. A couple weeks ago the seventh edition of Art Market San Francisco returned to the Fort Mason’s Festival Pavilion to the delight of collectors and art fans in the Bay Area. Featuring works from artists working with an international selection of 80 different galleries, the event looked to have something for everyone. Check out some of the highlights from the photos below… Photo credit: Birdman Photos.
After a showing at The Hole in New York last year (covered), Eric Yahnker will again be the gallery’s focus when Art Brussels opens tomorrow. As evidenced by the work that will be on display, the Los Angeles-based artist has not lost his sense of humor as he continues to navigate political issues, pop culture, and memes with ease (sometimes his best paintings are a combination of these themes). Take a look at more preview images below… Discuss Eric Yahnker here.
Last month, the LA Art Show retuned to Downtown Los Angeles at the LA Convention Center featuring work from artists, galleries, and institutions all around the world. For the first time they included some on-site programming from eight SoCal art institutions including the Broad, the Getty, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Autry Museum of the American West, the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach and the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center in Anaheim, as well as the UCLA […]
If the Art Basel Miami Beach (covered) is considered the main event every year during Basel Week Miami, then NADA Miami Beach is certainly the much-awaited encore (Art Basel typically opens on Weds to VIPs and NADA opens the next morning on Thurs.). It is where new discoveries are more often made, as NADA typically includes younger galleries, with newer programs and fresher artists. It does not focus nearly as much historic or secondary works. In its 14th edition, the fair relocates back to Deuville Beach Resort, from the Fontainebleau Miami Beach […]
Following the success of previous events in Miami in 2015 (covered) and New York in 2016 (covered), London will be the first European city to host immersive art and music event No Commission presented by The Dean Collection & Bacardi from December 8-10. Curated by music producer Swizz Beatz, the art fair is designed specifically to support both new and established artists. All participants are given their exhibition space for free and 100% of the sale of each artwork goes directly to the artists. Immersive music performances from event collaborator […]
Placed right on the beach, Untitled art fair has sligtly different vibe than the rest of the satelite fairs of Basel Week Miami. Showing vibrant and exciting contemporary art in a spacious light-filled environment, it’s one of our favorites to visit, and this year was no exception. Founded in 2012, the fair is focused on curatorial balance and integrity across all disciplines of contemporary art, which they showed once again for their 5th edition. Working with galleries from around the world that keep a close eye on […]
This year’s edition of the Pulse Art Fair at Indian Beach Park once again proved the reputation of the fair as one of the worthy satellite fairs of Basel Week Miami. Including over 70 galleries and their 200 artists, the fair featured new works from galleries all the way from Colombia, Spain, China to Japan. After visiting both tents of the fair on its second day, we felt the work was well curated, giving a nice overview of exciting new art being produced around the world. Without any order, some of the […]
