Previews: Eric Yahnker – “Alternative Fiction” @ The Hole (Art Brussels)

After a showing at The Hole in New York last year (covered), Eric Yahnker will again be the gallery’s focus when Art Brussels opens tomorrow. As evidenced by the work that will be on display, the Los Angeles-based artist has not lost his sense of humor as he continues to navigate political issues, pop culture, and memes with ease (sometimes his best paintings are a combination of these themes). Take a look at more preview images below… Discuss Eric Yahnker here.

Basel Week Miami ’16: NADA Art Fair

If the Art Basel Miami Beach (covered) is considered the main event every year during Basel Week Miami, then NADA Miami Beach is certainly the much-awaited encore (Art Basel typically opens on Weds to VIPs and NADA opens the next morning on Thurs.). It is where new discoveries are more often made, as NADA typically includes younger galleries, with newer programs and fresher artists. It does not focus nearly as much historic or secondary works. In its 14th edition, the fair relocates back to Deuville Beach Resort, from the Fontainebleau Miami Beach […]

Basel Week Miami ’16: Untitled Art Fair

Placed right on the beach, Untitled art fair has sligtly different vibe than the rest of the satelite fairs of Basel Week Miami. Showing vibrant and exciting contemporary art in a spacious light-filled environment, it’s one of our favorites to visit, and this year was no exception. Founded in 2012, the fair is focused on curatorial balance and integrity across all disciplines of contemporary art, which they showed once again for their 5th edition. Working with galleries from around the world that keep a close eye on […]

Basel Week Miami ’16: Pulse Art Fair

This year’s edition of the Pulse Art Fair at Indian Beach Park once again proved the reputation of the fair as one of the worthy satellite fairs of Basel Week Miami. Including over 70 galleries and their 200 artists, the fair featured new works from galleries all the way from Colombia, Spain, China to Japan. After visiting both tents of the fair on its second day, we felt the work was well curated, giving a nice overview of exciting new art being produced around the world. Without any order, some of the […]
