On December 10th, beinArt Gallery will be opening a new three person show entitled Myth and Mutation featuring the work of Adrian Cox, Christopher Ulrich, and Amanda Sage. We are looking forward to Cox’s lush paintings in particular, featuring his grotesque humanoid forms which appear to be created from amalgamations of the natural world and other organic material. The Bogota and Los Angeles-based Fabien Castanier Gallery used Basel Week Miami as an opportunity to show their roster of urban artists to the art-thirsty crowd in Wynwood with a popup exhibition. Displayed in two large spaces in the vibrant neighborhood, the exhibition also served as a teaser of what they will are planning for their upcoming Miami gallery location scheduled to open next year. Basel Week Miami ’16: Untitled Art Fair

Placed right on the beach, Untitled art fair has sligtly different vibe than the rest of the satelite fairs of Basel Week Miami. Showing vibrant and exciting contemporary art in a spacious light-filled environment, it’s one of our favorites to visit, and this year was no exception. Founded in 2012, the fair is focused on curatorial balance and integrity across all disciplines of contemporary art, which they showed once again for their 5th edition. Working with galleries from around the world that keep a close eye on […]

Basel Week Miami ’16: Pulse Art Fair

This year’s edition of the Pulse Art Fair at Indian Beach Park once again proved the reputation of the fair as one of the worthy satellite fairs of Basel Week Miami. Including over 70 galleries and their 200 artists, the fair featured new works from galleries all the way from Colombia, Spain, China to Japan. After visiting both tents of the fair on its second day, we felt the work was well curated, giving a nice overview of exciting new art being produced around the world. Without any order, some of the […]

The 16th edition of the fair returns to the sandy shores of shores of Ocean Drive with 125 international exhibitors from 22 countries and 57 cities showing their wares. Seen throughout the space were works from many artists that have graced the pages of AM in the past like this new larger than life sculpture from Sergio Garcia at the Thinkspace booth called A Little Conversation Piece. […]

Streets: Lonac (West Palm Beach)

Finally getting to paint in the US for the very first time, Lonac recently finished his largest mural to date. His newest piece I lost my shoe when I saw you is now adorning a four story building in centerl West Palm Beach as the biggest mural produced for the Canvas Festival. Given a facade with a couple of unfortunate architectural elements, the Croatian-artist worked his way around these using them to his advantage. With a line of windows splitting the surface in two parts, he […]

After hosting a solo show by Tomoo Gokita last year (covered), Bill Brady picked three artists for a small group showing during this year’s Basel Week Miami. Fountain Of Youth includes very different but exciting works by Greg Bogin, Tony Matelli & Erik Parker and opened on November 29th. With their diverse artistic expressions and the eclectic mix of mediums and techniques used, the artists are showing the beauty and strength of contemporary art. Parker’s large paintings mix collage and painting, creating almost psychedelic images that work both […]
