Upcoming: Mars-1 Sculptures @ Burning Man

Taking his bronze sculptures to the next level, Mars-1 (featured) has prepped three massive new pieces for this year’s Burning Man. The eclectic week-long annual event in Northern Arizona has seen the San Francisco-based artist’s organic imagery before (see 2010), but nothing in three dimensions. After the exclusive press preview held on the 20th of August (covered), the 21st was day zero for Banksy’s newest and biggest show to date. Previews: Geoff McFetridge – “It Looks Like It Says” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Coming up on September 10th, Joshua Liner Gallery will be unveiling ten works on canvas and numerous smaller works on paper from Geoff McFetridge. It Looks Like It Says will be the Los Angeles-based artist’s first solo with the New York showspace and continues his signature aesthetic of simplifying forms, utilizing matte colors, and playing with perspective. Upcoming: Kevin Cyr – “Live Work Play” @ Alden Gallery

Heading back for another show after a year (see 2014), Kevin Cyr (interviewed) will be will be opening Live Work Play at Alden Gallery in Provincetown tomorrow night, August 21st. The new pieces continues his series of documenting neglected vehicles and then returning to his Portland, Maine studio to paint them in detail. Cyr will be showing alongside Robert Morgan and Raúl Gonzalez III through September 3rd.
