Coming up at the end of the week, October 22nd, the Jaski Gallery in Amsterdam will be hosting the opening for Tessar Lo’s latest solo exhibition. Building on the body of work Tessar presented in Canada last April, The Dying Wishes, is a collection of painting and small drawings that further explore what look to be the dream-like landscapes of youth and our imaginary animal companions. Tomorrow night, October 15th, creator of grotesque and ghastly creatures, Chet Zar (interviewed), will be unleashing a new horde of monsters in Los Angeles at the Copro Gallery. On October 22nd, Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be unveiling his latest series of work at New York’s Jonathan LeVine Gallery. In his second exhibition with the Chelsea showspace, Migration focuses on what would happen when the unnatural changes in the environment forces the climates to abandon their normal cyclical zones. Last weekend, Mr. Brainwash invited the Seventh Letter Crew over in order to kick off his largest Los Angeles exhibition to date. Beginning on October 9th, the building that sits near the La Brea and Santa Monica will open it’s doors to artists around the globe and will offer over 80,000 square feet of blank walls and concrete. Having recently been turned on to Lola Dupré’s work, we were excited to hear that the Glasgow based collage artist has an upcoming solo exhibition at Phone Booth Gallery in Long Beach. Entitled Shrapnel, the exhibition will showcase Lola’s ‘exploding’ portraits of icons taken from popular culture, movie starlets and fellow artists as her subject matter. One of the highlights of the art retreat known as Baby Tattooville is the special pop-up store that is set up each year. Filled with unique prints, toys, art products, and original art from participating artists, the “Secret Store” is a good opportunity for fans to stock up on their favorite artist swag.
