On September 27th, Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed) will be unveiling new sculptural installations in Hong Kong’s Time Square. Presented by LeBasse Projects, the large heads (see below) that look like the ones often seen in the LA-based artist’s work will be interacting with passer-bys in one of the busiest areas in Causeway Bay. Patrick Martinez for Playboy

Los Angeles-based artist Patrick Martinez was recently asked to work on a project for Playboy’s App. Taking his signature neon work and his urban aesthetic, he built four sets for Miss May 2010 Playmate Kassie Logsdon to interact with. Take a look at some stills and the video below, shot by photographer Jared Ryder, as the creative process was throughly explained by Martinez and footage from the shoot is revealed. Recently, Los Angeles art collective Cyrcle. spent time in Portugal for their latest exhibition titled “Capture the Flag! : Conquer the Divide!” (covered). Marina Abramovic Kickstarter

It looks like Marina Abramovic is the latest creative to turn to Kickstarter to fund a project or idea. What she wants to accomplish is quite ambitious as the New York-based Serbian performance artist hopes to create an institute that will serve as her legacy and homage to time-based and immaterial art – the epnonymously named Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI). Videos: John Knuth – “Fly Paintings” for MOCAtv

MOCAtv recently released a video detailing the novel work of John Knuth and his little “assistants.” By feeding pigments to the over 250,000 common houseflies that were used in this new series of paintings, Knuth is able to create his artwork from the regurgitations over the canvases that form the insects’ environment.
