Nike recently released their collaboration with Romon Kimin Yang (Rostarr) featuring his calligraphy-inspired imagery on a selection of running footwear and apparel. While working with the company on the design of the collection, the New York-based artist was inspired by run crew culture and marathons leading him to embed abstract runners into his pattern of brushstrokes. On November 5th, Natalia Fabia (interviewed) will be opening a new show at Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, her first solo in four years. Mark Jenkins’ solo show Knock Knock is currently on view at Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne, Germany. His third exhibition with the gallery includes around 15 new sculptural pieces in the style that he has been creating for the past 13 years. Streets: Leon Keer // ONO’U (Tahiti)

Earlier his month, Leon Keer contributed another one of his signature anamorphic street paintings to the ONO’U street art festival in Tahiti. Painted at the lookout of the Gare Maritime Ferry Terminal in Papeete, the piece features a parade of robots ready to explore the beautiful island after exiting their cruise ship. As you can see, his three-dimensional skills are quite impressive, creating an optical illusion that the island residents would not soon forget. Releases: Mark Drew – “Deez Nuts” Prints

One of Australian artist and graphic designer Mark Drew’s most popular series of works are his genius mashups of the Peanuts comics and 90s rap. These paintings collectively entitled Deez Nuts were originally covered by us in 2013 when he had a showing at his China Heights Gallery in Sydney. For those who missed it, some of these images featuring some classic hip hop phrases and Schulz’ iconic characters are available as prints here. Discuss Mark Drew here.

The Os Gemeos show is coming to close this weekend in New York at the West 22nd Street location of Lehmann Maupin so these last couple days will be your last chance to see an amazing show. On October 21st, Mark Jenkins (interviewed) will be opening a show at Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne, Germany, his third solo with the gallery. Knock Knock will feature more of the American artist’s signature witty sculptures utilizing the human form, with the latest body of work a play on the classic joke. With these freestanding pieces, mimicking his installations on the streets, as well as the more indoor based sculptural canvas flats, Jenkins’ hopes to “metaphorically knock on the viewer’s mind, calling norms into question again.” Discuss Mark Jenkins here.
