This Saturday (January 16th), the Corey Helford Gallery will be opening the Asymmetrical Diptych group show. The title says it all – 26 artists will be creating two piece works meant to be displayed together but in an asymmetrical arrangement or shape. Previews: “Champagne Life” @ Saatchi Gallery (London)

Coinciding with its thirtieth birthday, Saatchi Gallery in London is opening on the 13th of January an all female show entitled Champagne Life featuring a cast of emerging international artists including Julia Wachtel, Mequitta Ahuja, Virgile Ittah, Marie Angeletti, Julia Dault, Alice Anderson, Jelena Bulajic, Mia Feuer, Sigrid Holmwood, Seung Ah Paik, Maha Malluh, Suzanne McClelland, Stephanie Quayle, and Soheila Sokhanvari. Streets: El Mac x David Choe (Phoenix)

After collaborated on a series of works in Cambodia last month, El Mac and David Choe met up again in Phoenix recently to work on a new project. The mural at Cobra Arcade Bar featured Miles’ signature ripple-line portraits (this time of his friend Darlene) along with Choe’s loose embellishments surrounding the image. Releases: Charlie Immer // IxRUN – “The Funk Of 40,000 Years” Print

Fans of Charlie Immer’s work can now purchase The Funk Of 40,000 Years, a print just released through 1xRUN. The image is taken from Lyric 3, a show last year at the Inner State Gallery that was musically themed and curated by Glenn Barr. Immer was inspired by the song Thriller by Michael Jackson to paint this piece and included one of his signature skeletons painted in his characteristic style. Previews: Ai Weiwei – “Er Xi” @ Le Bon Marché

In July 2015, Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei finally got his passport back four years after Chinese authorities seized it preventing him from leaving the country. In recent months, he’s been traveling around Europe, from UK to Greece, where he visited the refugee camp on Lesbos and set up a studio there. Currently he is Paris, working on an upcoming exhibition at Le Bon Marché, an upscale department store. This weekend, our Art Focus feature is on Nunzio Paci, an Italy-based artist whose series of new works highlights his fascination with human anatomy as well as the man-nature relationship. The first five paintings seen below belong to a set that is devoted to the Baroque masters and will be on display at Art Stage Singapore with gallery Officine dell’Immagine from January 21 – 24. Currently at The Huntington in Los Angeles, a selection of works from Alex Israel has been inserted throughout the the historic institution’s European art collection. The intriguing mix of new and old brings to mind exhibitions in the past like KAWS at the PAFA or like the turns Koons, Murakami, and Kapoor took at Versailles.
