Previews: Ray Caesar – “Pretty Little Predators” @ Gallery House

This weekend in Toronto, Ray Caesar (interviewed 2011, 2013) will be hosted by Gallery House as he unveils works he has created for a new solo show entitled Pretty Little Predators. Created painstakingly with 3D modeling programs and released as limited editions and one offs, the Canadian artist’s work draws from life memories and events mixed in with fantastical and often disturbing imagery. Recently to the delight of her fans in the Los Angeles area, Jen Stark painted some of her signature imagery on the facade of PLATFORM, a retail venue opening next year in Culver City. The psychedelic drips of color that are often seen in her mural painting mirror the geometric colors seen in her papercut sculptures, leading to a cohesive aesthetic seen across the versatile artist’s oeuvre.
