Streets: Brusk / Art Rua (Rio de Janeiro)

Last month, we shared with you something Titi Freak painted during the fifth annual ArtRua fair in Rio de Janeiro. Turns out, a member of the Da Mental Vaporz crew was also in town painting a much larger 25m high mural entitled You’ll Sweat Blood And Water. Created over four days by Brusk, the impressive wall featured a disintegrating fire extinguisher made up of graffiti letterforms. Take a look at more photos below… Discuss Da Mental Vaporz here.

Showing: RUN – “Man Is God” @ Howard Griffin Gallery

Showing through the end of the month at Howard Griffin Gallery is a new solo from Giacomo Bufarini a.k.a. RUN, a followup to his show with the gallery last year (covered). The Italian artist has made his name painting his iconic characters around the world with their recognizable large heads. For Man Is God, he takes this to the next level with large three-dimensional representations that almost take on a sacred feel like the Easter Island heads. This installation is surrounded by ceremonial banners that cover the walls […]

The painting was inspired by the ghost of horses left to die where they fall with the spirit caught in the trees as it rises from the body as referred to by the title. The 12 x 16″ signed and numbered edition (run of 100) costs $60 and is available here. Discuss Sail here.

The twin brothers and artist duo from NY stated that the image explores themes that they feel are universally common. This was done through the use of various visual elements familiar in their previous work. Subjects such as danger, aggression, […]
