With his most recent solo show titled Revok, Jason Williams aka REVOK introduced his latest concepts and works at Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne, Germany. Opened on August 14th, the show will stay on view until September 27th. The title of the shows refers to the concept of identity that he has been exploring since 1990, when he adopted the name as his alias. REVOK was only a tag or a pseudonym when he started out as a graffiti artist, but later on it became a frame within which he can define himself without social constraints. […]

James Jean x Momofuku Commission

After painting a mural last month for POW! WOW! Long Beach (covered), James Jean (interviewed) has started work on a new project. Utilizing large panels, the gifted painter looks to be prepping a large installation for friend and chef David Chang’s Momofuku restaurant group. The name can be loosely translated to “lucky peach” which explains why Jean used the peach as his focus for the commissioned works. Upcoming: “FAILE: Wishing on You” @ Times Square (New York)

Times Square Arts, the people behind the current Os Gemeos animation as part of their Midnight Moment series (covered), will be bringing the locally-based Faile (featured) into the mix starting tomorrow, August 17th. FAILE: Wishing on You will take the prayer wheel installations of the Brooklyn-based duo to a whole new level with a massive re-imagining slated to be revealed at the Broadway plaza between 42nd and 43rd Streets. Releases: Josh Keyes – “A Whole New World” Print

On August 25th, Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be making new print available through the Antler Gallery website at 11 am PDT and cost $275. The signed and numbered edition is slated for a run of 200 with the measurements at a paper size of 18″x34″ and image size of 15.5″x30.5″. A percentage from the sale of each print will be donated to Big Cats Initiative. Ludo (interviewed) is currently in NYC working with the brand new printing company NYC editions. Openings: D*Face – ‘Wasted Youth’ @ CAC Malaga

CAC Málaga, in collaboration with the British Council, recently opened up the first solo exhibition in Spain from D*Face (interviewed). The London-based artist’s work was seen for the first time in Málaga in 2013 when he created an immense mural for the MAUS Project (covered) along with Shepard Fairey. Streets: Kenny Scharf (Malaga)

Taking part in the ongoing Maus Malaga 2015, street art legend Kenny Scharf just spent a few days on the Mediterranean, getting up some of his signature work. Working on the east side of the river Guadalmedina, the LA-based artist added his work to a local wall of fame, along with Ben Eine, Felipe Pantone, Javi Calleja, under the massive murals by D*Face and Shepard Fairey. Previews: Tim Biskup – “Space Madness” @ Kong Art Space

For his first time in Hong Kong, Tim Biskup (featured) will be opening a show on August 27th at the Kong Art Space entitled Space Madness. The title of the exhibition references one of the Los Angeles-based artist’s first influences for his cartoon-like imagery – Ren & Stimpy, an animated TV show. Another inspiration of his, the work of  Roberto Matta, was also listed as a touchpoint for the new vibrant and colorful pieces. Discuss Tim Biskup here.
