This time, fluorescent painted dancers will flock to the rooftop club Le Bain at The Standard NY, serving as the performance art backdrop to McGinness’ Blacklight Paintings. The impending party […]

Armory Week ’10: Independent

Along with the Armory Show and the regular satellite fairs (Pulse, Scope, Volta), this year we also attended Independent – a new fair founded by Elizabeth Dee of the non-profit X Initiative and Darren Flook of London’s Hotel gallery. Even among a week packed with so much to see, Independent certainly stood out. For one, unlike the other fairs we attended, with labyrinthine rows and aisles packed with gallery booths, Independent was set up like a museum exhibition, with several floors of open space organically […]

Armory Week ’10: First Look at The Armory Show

We had a chance to take a first look at this year’s enormous Armory Show, which officially opened in NYC yesterday. After spending most of the afternoon, we still felt like we had rushed through the contemporary half of the fair shown on Pier 94, and we didn’t even get to Pier 92, the other half which focuses on modern art. We will definitely be going back over the next few days to make sure to give you full coverage. But until then, take a […]

Preview: The Armory Show 2010

Oh, how time flies! It seems not that long ago, we were running around New York during Armory Week. But it’s actually been almost a year, and the 2010 ARMORY Art Show is now just around the corner. If you can’t wait for March 4th to roll around for the show, we have a little sneak peek of some pieces that will be exhibited at the fair. Check it out after the jump.

Armory Week: Pulse Art Fair

As we previously did with SCOPE, here is a quick run through of the satellite Pulse Fair put on during Armory Week in NY. On display were many artists that we love including this large showstopper from Martin Wittfooth (above). More pics after the jump.
