Openings: CT Nelson – “Thick With Instinct” @ Knew Conscious Gallery

AM was on hand at Knew Conscious for the October 11th opening of Thick With Instinct, the latest work from Denver artist CT Nelson. This is his third solo show in as many years at the gallery, and as with previous years, fans will note his signature raging fields of flowing lights and haunting imagery. One of the stars of the Denver art scene, his annual show always draws a big crowd of enthusiastic viewers. The show is on display now through November 7th.

Upcoming: Nate Frizzell – “Dark Was The Night” @ CHG Circa

Coming up in the middle of next month, CHG Circa will be presenting new works from Nate Frizzell (interviewed). Dark Was The Night will be his first solo with the gallery and the first in Los Angeles since the beginning of last year (covered). For the last several days now, Faile (featured) has been in Covington working on a large scale mural on the rear walls of the Republic Bank and Donna Salyer’s Fabulous Bridal on the corners of 6th Street and Madison Avenue. Over the weekend, painter Luke Chueh (featured) presented a new body of work to his collectors in Los Angeles entitled Self-ish. The show at CHG Circa featured a continuation of one of his most recognizable series, the “You Are What You Eat” works, overlaid with some of his self portrait elements. With this latest edition of our Streets: World Roundup article, we turn our eyes to Las Vegas for our featured mural from ROA. The Belgium-based artist withstood the desert heat for four days of hard work before completing this piece with the image of a horny toad, a local species that can squirt blood out of its eyes to deter predators.
