The city of Charleroi in Belgium was the host for the first edition of the Asphalte Urban Art Biennial. Taking place from the beginning of May till the end of October, this event includes theatrical programming, dance and academic programs, concerts, as well as urban and street art projects. After painting a whole train back in 2011, Brazilian brothers and legendary graffiti artists, Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo aka Os Gemeos, recently raised the bar even further. In collaboration with the Brazilian national football team, and GOL Airlines, they painted the whole 737 Boeing that will carry their national team and personnel during the World Cup. Sainer & Bezt, the only two members of the Etam Cru, recently visited Italy right after opening their solo show in Barcelona (covered). The Polish art duo stopped in Gaeta, where they created this large mural for the ongoing Memorie Urbane festival. This time, the two put aside their darker surrealist concepts, and did this playful piece showing a little boy selling his toys, symbolizing the end of childhood and entry into the world of grownups. We recently brought you a look at artists at work on the Urban Nation’s Project M/4 in Berlin, curated by Thinkspace. Participants including Andrew Schoultz, C215, Curiot, Fernando Chamarelli, Glenn Barr, Joao Ruas, Low Bros, Nosego, Word To Mother, Alexis Diaz (aka La Pandilla), Karl Addison, and Dabs Myla were asked to create large window murals as well as working on the facade of the building. Previews: Ana Bagayan – “Children of the Sun” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Tomorrow night in Los Angeles, the Thinkspace Gallery will be hosting the opening of Ana Bagayan’s (interviewed) newest solo show. Children of the Sun features paintings and drawings that are inspired by her fascination with our sun and the worlds around it with the title of the show referring to Ancient Armenia, before the introduction of Christianity. DALeast has been having a quiet year focusing more on his studio work, traveling less and doing less street works. But recently, he took part in the Day One Festival in Roeselare, Belgium, organized by Street Art Belgium, by creating this massive piece on the docks. The Chinese-born artist painted this large image showing six human figures moving a large mountain.
