Last weekend, an expansive collection of paintings, sculptures, and site-specific installations was revealed at BEYOND THE STREETS in Los Angeles (1667 N Main St). Recap: POW! WOW! Hawaii 2018

A couple months ago, the 2018 edition of the POW! WOW! Hawaii was held on the island of Oahu, a week long annual event that celebrates culture, music and art. As always, the focus for us is the action that happens on the streets of Kaka’ako as local and international artists gather to paint live murals. This Saturday night (December 2nd), James “Dalek” Marshall (interviewed) will be opening a solo show at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles. The Space Monkey Returns features a new body of work celebrating the 20th anniversary of one of the North Carolina-based artist’s most iconic characters. It seemed Marshall had retired the space monkey a while back and moved on to other things, but as he mentioned in his recent interview here, it made sense to revisit it at this time.
