Streets: Hyuro (Copenhagen)

While in town for her show in Copenhagen (covered), Hyuro also spent time working on a massive new mural over 270 meters long. Spending about two weeks painting her progressive imagery featuring an elk making a transformation as it trots through a forest, the long piece is a gift to her fans in the Danish capital. Preview: Paul Wackers – “Almost Somewhere” @ Narwhal Projects

After a recent showing in Los Angeles (covered), Paul Wackers will be taking his contemporary still life paintings up north for an exhibition at Narwhal Projects, opening on June 13th. Almost Somewhere will be the Brooklyn-based artist’s first showcase at the Toronto gallery and will continue his representations of domestic collections of objects and plants in his unique way. Releases: AJ Fosik – “Shining Deathless” Print

American artist Maya Hayuk recently visited Cologne, Germany where she took part in its CityLeaks Urban Art Festival. It is the second time that the event has been organized there this year. Brazilian artist Herbert Baglione recently visited Mexico City for the opening of his newest solo show “Obituary” @ Fifty24Mx gallery. The new show  includes new paintings and installations by the artist. NYC nonprofit art space Art in General currently has an excellent exhibition by Letha Wilson, entitled Landmarks and Monuments. The show consists mostly of Wilson’s photo-based sculptures—many of which were created and installed specifically for the site. In the center of the gallery, a floor-to-ceiling photograph of a moonrise curves around one of the space’s support columns.
