Nicola Verlato – “Zero Gravity” @ Merry Karnowsky

Over the weekend, the Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles welcomed local artist Nicola Verlato and his new paintings into their showspace with an opening reception. The new works collectively entitled Zero Gravity are beautiful executed with his characters and objects suspended in midair as if frozen in time. Damien Hirst Flag Part Of London Olympics Closing Ceremony

With the Olympics coming to an end, all of London celebrated with a star-studded and rousing closing ceremony featuring some of England’s greatest cultural exports. Damien Hirst was asked to design one of the many renditions of the Union Jack in his signature spin-painting looking motif which was unveiled as part of the event. El Mac Designs New No Doubt Album Cover

No Doubt will be putting out their first new album in over 10 years, Push and Shove, and street artist El Mac has been tapped to design the cover. Lead Singer Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin have been fans of Miles’ work for a while and have his work in their collection, so it only seemed natural for them to contact him for the collaboration. Releases: Joe Sorren – “My Aim Is True”

In preparation for his upcoming show at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, artist Joe Sorren (featured) has a fresh print lined up for fans. Entitled My Aim Is True, the Arizona-based artist mentioned that its title is from an Elvis Costello song he was listening to while painting and conveyed the concept of “faith” of which the painting was getting at.
