The Waiting series features anonymous snapshots in an urban environment, which is a commentary on an individuals’ seemingly impossible task of trying to find existence in society in which they are so detached. The work in White Light aims to express a sense of freedom and that we are able to choose whether we exist through […]

Streets: Joe Sorren

It looks like gifted painter Joe Sorren’s (featured) has painted another wall in his home city (see the previous The Veridic Gardens of Effie Leroux), this time in collaboration with Lyle Motley. This wonderful new piece entitled Galápagos is located in Flagstaff at 209 Benton Avenue (La Famiglia Foto) is perhaps a warmup to his show coming up next month at Dorothy Circus in Italy.  We’ll have more on that soon, but for now, take a look at a more detailed shot of the mural after […]

Streets: “______ capitalism?” (Norway)

Artists have been hard at work the past week getting up in Norway for the ______ capitalism? event put on by the NHH Norwegian School of Economics in close collaboration with the Nuart Festival. If you remember back in July, Eine was the first to paint a piece for the project, but others like M-City, Escif, Dolk, and Hyuro have joined in the fun to challenge the leading business school’s ideological foundations directly on their walls. The unlikely pairing of the street artists with the school […]

After visiting Korin Faught’s studio a few days ago (here), we finally got to see the unveiling of her new work on the walls of Corey Helford Gallery. Titled Voices of the Lake, Faught continues to use the theme of reflections and dual imagery in her paintings. This time however, her work features water as a visual motif to explore the hidden and elusive qualities of her subjects. The dark and white colors draping against wooden canvas and the smallest of details on any given […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

After having a break from London, AM was very happy to return to a lot of fresh pieces. Phlegm has been painting the walls of The Foundry with his impressive comic book characters, Kid Acne has put up one of his excellent paste-ups which is especially nice, and it was also great to see that Mobstr had been out and about again with one of his thought provoking stencil messages. Also a great wall by artist David Shillinglaw who currently has a show at East […]
