Another gallery you should add to your list is the Copro Gallery in Santa Monica as they will be hosting seventh annual BLAB! SHOW, previewing artwork from the upcoming volumes of BLABWORLD No. 2 and 3.

Openings: José Parlá – “Character Gestures” @ OHWOW

Last night, OHWOW gallery presented Jose Parla’s new body of work titled Character Gestures, which predictably drew much of the art community out in support and to take in a rare LA exhibition from the urban painter and calligraphist. In this collection, the Cuban-born artist explores various themes that deal with aspects of birth and rebirth but he does so in such an interesting way that invites the viewer to study and dissect the meanings behind each piece. For the most part, this work carries […]

The heavy rotation of old skool talent such as KR, BIO, T-Kid 170, Keo, NICER, James Top, PNUT2, Rebel, CES, SHARP, Fritos, NIC 707, CEY, REVOLT and Tracy 168 showed indoors what many of us have been used to seeing on the streets of […]

Openings: Pedro Matos – “Ephemera” @ Shooting Gallery

Portuguese artist, Pedro Matos opened his first U.S. solo show entitled Ephemera at Shooting Gallery Saturday night (previewed). This twenty-two year old artist has created a body of work that creates a political, social and moral dialogue by painting portraits of those who are often overlooked and forgotten by society. Highly recommended that you check out the work in person (if possible), as he has done a fine job in creating oil on canvas based works that also physically look like they are deteriorating and […]
