This Wednesday night, May 26th, a group show opens at Affirmative Arts in New York. The diverse lineup features heavy-hitters Gary Baseman, Tim Biskup, Blek Le Rat, D*Face, Dalek, Date Farmers, Shepard Fairey, Doze Green, Keith Haring, James Jean, Kaws, Mark Ryden, Jeff Soto, Robert Williams, WK Interact coming together for an exhibition that partially benefits Art Connects New York. Teaser: FAME Festival 2010

Studiocromie has released a tentative lineup to their 2010’s FAME Festival, the annual outdoor art event where urban and contemporary artists visit the streets of Grottaglie to create tremendous murals and installations (See last years coverage). The official show should open to the public on September 25th. Check out the lineup after the jump.

Openings: Mike Giant @ Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea – Milan

Following his successful show last year at France’s Magda Danysz (covered), Mike Giant returned to the EU to open his “Welcome to Frisco” show last Thursday night at Milan’s Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea.  Featuring his trademark clean lines and tattooed subjects, Giant’s showing looks to be a great introduction to the San Francisco aesthetic and culture for the Milanese people. Releases: Poster Cause Project – Haiti Relief

The Poster Cause Project has just released three open-edition prints in support of the people of Haiti. Preview: James Marshall – “And There Was War in Heaven” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Opening tomorrow night at Jonathan LeVine Gallery is James Marshall’s (interviewed) latest show entitled “And There Was War in Heaven.” With this new body of work, the artist formerly known as Dalek continues down the path of near-total geometric abstraction, with few or no references remaining to his early space monkey character. In addition, Marshall has created several paintings with a more simplified style and a very recession-friendly pricing, which will no doubt interest old and new Dalek collectors alike. Friday night, AM had the pleasure of attending the preview opening of two shows at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery.
