It looks like the newly married Hush (interviewed) is hard at work on a new body of work for presumably an upcoming show. “Distant Portraits” will series of large paintings looks to be a continuation of his more mature and realism centered work which started with his show in SF last May. It looks like Bristol stencilist Nick Walker (interviewed) was up at the crack of dawn this morning to hit up a prominent spot in London outside the Royal College of Art / Royal Albert Hall with this piece entitled “Cardinal Sinister”. The warm weather season is almost over. We know what’s been on everyone’s mind: “what sort of magical goodness has Ryan McGinley been creating for us this summer?” Well, we can now start answering that question. The talented artist went to the Pitchfork Music Festival and documented his two favorite bands on camera. Smith Westerns and Girls are the subjects of this intimate film. On Saturday, Esao Andrews opened up his latest exhibition at Jonathan Levine Gallery with a new body of work consisting of some of his largest paintings to date. Utilizing his signature mix of creative story telling and darkly laid out characters/compositions, Mr. Andrews entertained the audience with a rich and complex show. “Art in the Streets” Exhibition @ MOCA Confirmed by Deitch

Ever since the Deitch appointment at MOCA was announced, it was a question of not if, but when a major street art exhibition was coming to Los Angeles. It’s time for another update from Stavenger, site of the Nuart Festival. Looks like Vhils is in town now chiseling away at another masterpiece. We had only recently enjoyed his work at the fantastic Eurotrash show and the Viva La Revolucion exhibit so if you have not seen the textures of his work in person, you are missing out. Last Friday, San Francisco celebrated an amazing ten year run for Fecal Face, source of all art in the Bay Area.
