Lead Singer Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin have been fans of Miles’ work for a while and have his work in their collection, so it only seemed natural for them to contact him for the collaboration. After a photoshoot, the artist spent the next six weeks painting four separate acrylic wood panel portraits in his signature […]

Update: Kelsey Brookes

It looks like Kelsey Brookes has been working on a new body of work for Quint Contemporary Art in La Jolla, set to open in November. The upcoming series of paintings, drawing from the San Diego-based artist’s science background, will be inspired by structural diagrams of different neurotransmitters as well as the drugs that mimic them, both designer (i.e. xanex, prozac) and recreational (i.e. mescaline, LSD). And in other news, Brookes has been tapped to create covers for the Red Hot Chili Peppers as they get set to release 18 […]

The  cover is created by artist Patrick Martinez (here & here) and consists of his signature neon works depicting a disjointed shining flag in front of a shattered painted portrait of the rapper. The piece is symbolic of the twisted and broken roads on […]
