Openings: Andrew Schoultz “Broken Order” @ Ruttkowski;68

On the 10th of October, Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne, Germany opened a new solo show by American artist, Andrew Schoultz. Titled Broken Order, this show includes all new works which introduce a slight new direction for the artist. Aside from his familiar illustrative elements and signature imagery, the new paintings include geo and op art objects, which was further emphasized through a specific install painted in the gallery space. The Los  Angeles-based artist is known for large murals, installations, paintings and drawings, all created using his meticulous line work and heavy layering. […]

Previews: “Summer Mixer” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

This Thursday night, July 17th, it’s time again for Joshua Liner Gallery to put on their Summer Mixer group exhibition, a look at some artists making their debut with the New York showspace. Included in this show are works from Andrew Schoultz, Erin M. Riley, Guy Yanai, Kristen Schiele, Michael Theodore, Sam Friedman, and Robert Larson (whose work can be seen above featuring repurposed discarded tobacco packaging that he finds on the streets). Project M/4 (Berlin) – Part II

We recently brought you a look at artists at work on the Urban Nation’s Project M/4 in Berlin, curated by Thinkspace. Participants including Andrew Schoultz, C215, Curiot, Fernando Chamarelli, Glenn Barr, Joao Ruas, Low Bros, Nosego, Word To Mother, Alexis Diaz (aka La Pandilla), Karl Addison, and Dabs Myla were asked to create large window murals as well as working on the facade of the building. As we mentioned last week, the Thinkspace Gallery curating a show entitled LAX / TXL as part of the fourth stage of a project by Urban Nation. Streets: Andrew Schoultz @ SXSW

After attending this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii and completing a large collaborative mural for the event, Andrew Schoultz headed to Austin, Texas for his next project. Juxtapoz & Converse have teamed up to bring the Los Angeles-based artist to SXSW where he painted another big wall, this time with a sweet tank embellishment.
