Releases: Tomoo Gokita x Case Studyo – “A Bathing Beauty” Sculpture

Taking a painting from his show at Mary Boone Gallery last year (covered), Tomoo Gokita has brought the faceless beauty he created to life with the help of Case Studyo. Entitled A Bathing Beauty like the painting, the new bronze sculpture will be released tomorrow through their website in two colorways – white & black. The very limited edition (8 + 3 AP’s) will come in a silkscreened wooden box and include a signed and numbered certificate from the Japanese artist. Discuss Tomoo Gokita here.

Earlier this month, Ron English (featured) intruded something new produced by ToyQube entitled Temporal Boxing Brain. Based on one of the NY-based artist’s paintings, the sculptural release is a good example of his wit as well as penchant for creative remixing of common items and pop culture. Continuing to spread his iconic sad bear imagery, Luke Chueh (interviewed) recently collaborated with Common Artist Project on a collection of clothing. Featuring a limited edition run of Pullovers, Rib Muscle Tanks, Short Sleeve Tees entitled “Bolt,” the line of clothing with the pink lightning bolt and his most famous character is a homage to Ziggy Stardust. Artists Bäst, Paul Insect, and Rostarr have recently collaborated with a new fashion label, Cocurata, on their inaugural collection. It looks like Mars-1 & Damon Soule recently collaborated with Smokovich Designs to create some limited edition jewelry for the fashion conscious art fans out there. Dubbed the Furtherrr Collection after the art collective the two Bay Area-based artists are part of, the line features pendants, necklaces, and earrings created based off their artwork and drawings.
