Upcoming: Boris Tellegan – “Pieces” @ Backslash

Returning for his third solo show with Backslash on April 20th, Boris Tellegen aka Delta will be presenting a new body of work entitled Pieces. Included in the exhibition are a series of paper collages (pictures here), sculptures, and installations, all strongly influences by the Dutch artist’s interest in architecture (also seen with his work on the streets). Rounding out the show will be a  projected video that retraces the lettering he famously applied to trains between 2014 and 2017. Discuss Boris “Delta” Tellegen here.

The city of Charleroi in Belgium was the host for the first edition of the Asphalte Urban Art Biennial. For those familiar with his work, the pieces from Boris “Delta” Tellegen, whether on the streets or in galleries, are very structural in nature. Interestingly, he has taken the architectural elements to his craft and applied them to the facade of a building in Harleem in the Netherlands. Currently in Amsterdam, fans of Boris Tellegen (DELTA) can check out an installation that is showing at the Ron Mandos Gallery. The locally based graffiti and fine artist was invited to participate in the Edge Of Space exhibition that primarily showcases the work of Ron van der Ende. For his part, Tellegen contributed an inset sculptural installation that continues to explore the transformation of his two-dimensional street work into three-dimensional mixed media pieces. After hanging up his distinctive large-scale sculptural pieces in March at the Muziekgebouw Concert Hall in his home-city of Amsterdam (covered), Boris Tellegen aka Delta moved on to his next project, this time in the epicenter of art fair world – Basel, Switzerland. It looks like Boris Tellegen aka Delta has decided to go big since we last saw his work at the Elms Lester show in 2009. These new large-scale floating sculptural works from the Dutch artist are currently on display at Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw Concert Hall and are collectively entitled Subduction Zones, placed to welcome the World Minimal Music Festival.
