AM took some time to catch up with artists Revok and POSE (pictured above) as they were next to tackle that monster wall on the corner of Bowery & Houston. Following in the footsteps of many notable artists such as RETNA, Kenny Scharf, Barry McGee, Shepard Fairey, AIKO, Os Gemeos, JR, Keith Haring, CRASH and Faile, the two members of the MSK crew accepted this hefty project at the historic mural location, but took a little bit of a different approach. Over the course of six days, the […]

She’s also been the official photographer for […]
Earlier this week, we gave you a behind the scenes look of street artist Crash, a.k.a. John Matos (featured), as he worked the renowned Bowery & Houston wall. With the help of Tats Cru member BIO assisting on the cans, Mr. Matos powered through this fresh composition featuring the iconic cartoon character Popeye. Maybe a possible nod to Jeff Koons? Regardless, it’s impressive to see Crash turn his concept sketch on paper into a large scale reality.

It’s been a rough few weeks for New York City as Hurricane Sandy came up and took the city hostage as it wreaked havoc with flooding, blackouts and gas shortages. On Friday, twin brothers How & Nosm took the tall task of being the next artists invited to work on the iconic Bowery & Houston wall. AM stopped by the past two days to catch the […]
After spending some time with LA artist RETNA (featured) as he put his mark on the iconic Bowery & Houston wall in New York (covered here), AM headed back to see the finishing touches. As you can see, the MSK writer’s calligraphy is getting increasingly complex and is undecipherable for those who aren’t in the know. Luckily for those curious, we have a photo of part of the message he was painting. See this and more photos taken for us by Joe Russo after the jump…
Last week, we sat patiently as the beautiful mural created by Faile came down and was being washed white, wondering who was going to be bold enough to take on the legendary Bowery & Houston wall next? Retna (featured) makes his first official return to New York since his massive solo there last winter. AM was invited to capture this undertaking as the project started on a rainy Saturday. Undeterred, […]
