Opening alongside Know Hope (covered) at Carmichael Gallery was “Mood Swings,” a group show showcasing the work of seven urban artists: Asbestos, Bumblebee, Cena7, Fefe Talavera, Imminent Disaster, Labrona and Oddzoo. The show, which runs through July 2nd, presents a mixture of up-and-coming and established artists from varying backgrounds, giving patrons an opportunity to enjoy a diverse sampling of the genre. Israeli street artist Know Hope’s Los Angeles solo debut “the times won’t save you (this rain smells of memory)” (previewed) opened to a packed house at the Carmichael Gallery. Patrons were in awe with his intricate gallery installation echoing the theme of the show, which was comprised of cardboard buildings, his signature characters, paper raindrops and fishing twine. AM stopped by the Carmichael Gallery to check out the progress of Israeli street artist Know Hope’s first Los Angeles solo debut “the times won’t save you (this rain smells of memory)” (teased) opening tomorrow, Thursday, June 4th. Last night, the Carmichael GalleryÂ in Hollywood pulled no punches with their all-star show, “Get Rich Quick!,” showcasing the strongest talents in the street and urban art genre. Some scorching hot pieces lined the gallery’s walls for the exhibition, including: a rare BanksyÂ canvas, a KAWS ad disruption, boxes and screen-printed collages fromÂ Faile, to originals by Barry McGeeÂ and Micallef and much more.
