Openings: Tiffany Bozic – “Qualia” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Last month, AM attended the opening of Tiffany Bozic’s latest showing with Joshua Liner Gallery, her third (also see 2010 & 2012). The striking new works, nine in total, explores how creatures experience the world and the fact the no two species or persons  have the same subjective consciousness. Qualia runs through November 15th, so head by if you are in New York to check out these surreal amalgamations of the natural world for yourself. Showing: Modernica Chair Group Show @ Soze Gallery

Last Saturday night, Soze Gallery in Los Angeles opened a group exhibition that highlighted the form of the Modernica chair, seen through the lens of each participant’s artistic vision. Friends and artists who show with the gallery, created custom one of a kind versions of the chair with their signature styles and techniques with part of the proceeds going to benefit The Art Of Elysium, a non-profit organization that brings empowering artistic programs to children in the local hospitals in the area. Openings: Alfred Steiner – “Likelihood of Confusion” @ Joshua Liner

New York based artist Alfred Steiner recently opened a slammin’ exhibition at Joshua Liner Gallery. Entitled Likelihood of Confusion, this show encompassed several cornerstone techniques that the artist has been focusing on of late. The new body of work included his realistic watercolors in which he assembles iconic symbols using eye catching free associated images, oil painted shaped fiberboards, and the jaw dropping 3M based reflective artwork with the Louis Vuitton Don and his run in with the papparazi that we first previewed with a studio visit. Leading things off is a video (via Designboom) detailing Miguel Chevalier’s mix of new technology with ancient structures. Update: Brendan Monroe – “Blobography” @ Heath Ceramics (Los Angeles)

Tomorrow night (November 1st) in Los Angeles, Brendan Monroe (interviewed) will be be ready to reveal all the hard work he has put in at Heath Ceramics. Blobography will feature some of the amazing organic sculptural forms he created in their workshop as well as some original paintings and drawings. Tomorrow night in San Francisco, Thinkspace will be taking over Hashimoto Contemporary with a group exhibition entitled LAX / SFO. Continuing to spread their love around the world with these satellite shows, this one in the Bay Area is just the latest one that will see the Los Angeles-based gallery introduce their roster to a different group of collectors. Previews: Aaron Li-Hil – “Electric Currents and Mortal Wounds” @ White Walls

On November 8th, White Walls in San Francisco will be turning over their project space over to Aaron Li-Hill for his first solo with the gallery. Entitled Electric Currents And Mortal Wounds, the new exhibition will featurepaintings and installation by Canadian artist featuring his signature fencers in motion. Setup: Project M/6 (Berlin) – Part I

Urban Nation recently kicked off the next phase of their ongoing art program with a new roster of artists curated by Jonathan LeVine Gallery. One aspect of the event features artists who create window installations in Berlin and the ones invited this time did just that. Take a look at some in progress photos as Dan Witz, Jeff Soto, Nychos, Olek and Saner created their 10′ x 10′ pieces destined for the windows of the building as well as works for the group show.
